The project at the Hotel Arai, located in the heart of Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter, required a particularly careful and respectful intervention with the original architecture, aiming to preserve its historic character while providing it with a new level of sophistication and comfort.
One of the most remarkable aspects of the project has been the treatment of the ceilings, where antique carved wooden elements have been preserved and restored, adding depth, texture, and a strong sense of identity to the spaces. This meticulous work has made it possible to recover the building’s essence while integrating it into a contemporary project.
The original columns have been carefully restored to highlight their structural and decorative presence within the spaces. The finishes, chosen with great care, aim to strike a balance between elegance, noble materials, and a warm atmosphere.
The result is a collection of spaces with their own distinct personality, where the guest experience is shaped through the quality of the details and an architectural intervention that respects the past while looking toward the future.
With this project, Hotel Arai stands as an example of a heritage hotel that embraces a discreet, understated form of luxury, deeply connected to the material memory of the building.
